Instituted 18 October 1861 by King Wilhelm I. (1867 1918 issue). Constructed of gilded silver with multi coloured enamels, consisting of a Cross Patte with white enameled arms outlined in gilt, the obverse bearing a central gilded medallion overlaid by a raised crown, within a ring of blue enamel bearing a gilt inscription of GOTT MIT UNS (GOD WITH US) with arabesques, the reverse bearing a central gilded
