Léon Haffner: Imagier des marines. Chypre Kunisada and YoshitoshiLon Haffner (1881 1972) was passionate about maritime matters from childhood, particularly in Le Havre where he spent his holidays. A precocious draftsman, boats were his favorite models. He used his observational skills to depict them perfectly. He became known in 1907 by winning second prize in a drawing competition organized by the French Maritime League, which he later joined as an architect librarian; he left as director at the age of 73.
